About the Targaryen Family Tree

Dragons, dynasties, and one deeply tangled bloodline. We built this site to untangle it.

The house of Targaryen spans centuries in-universe: the founding conquest of Aegon I, the “Old King” Jaehaerys’s golden age, the Dance of the Dragons civil war, the Dunk and Egg era a century later, and finally the Game of Thrones generation that ends the dynasty as fans know it. Following any one character across that timeline — let alone the whole family — means jumping between the novels, Fire & Blood, the Dunk and Egg novellas, and two different TV adaptations that don’t always agree with each other.

This site exists to make that easier: one place to see how everyone connects, which era a character belongs to, and where the books and the shows diverge.

Why We Built This

Because “wait, how is Rhaenyra related to Daenerys again?” is a question worth answering properly, with sources, instead of scrolling through a wiki with twelve conflicting infoboxes. Every page here is written to be a fast, accurate reference — whether you’re a book purist, a show-only viewer, or just trying to win an argument about succession law.
